◆ QUICK START · 5 minutes

From zero to first trade.

Five steps. No crypto background required. Works from phone or desktop.

01

Create an account

Sign in with email, Google, or Apple. No seed phrase, no wallet setup. vorepo auto-creates an embedded Solana wallet in the background via Privy. Takes 30 seconds.

Why Privy? Self-custody without the pain. You get a real Solana wallet you can export to Phantom later if you want. But you don't have to touch crypto infrastructure to start.
02

Deposit USDC

Two ways: credit card via Coinbase Onramp (fastest, 2-5 minutes), or send USDC directly from another Solana wallet (instant, no fee). Minimum deposit $5. No KYC below $100.

Why USDC? Stable dollar-pegged. Your balance doesn't move unless you actually trade. Withdrawals are free for Plus subscribers, $0.50 flat otherwise.
03

Spot momentum

Browse the Markets page. Sort by 24h change, velocity, or stars. The Alpha Signals section highlights repos currently trading 2+ standard deviations above the platform mean velocity — those are your "hot right now" candidates.

  • Filter by category: web, ai-ml, systems, tools, data, crypto, security, gamedev, education
  • Search by owner/name/ticker in the top hero bar
  • Click any row to open the trading terminal with full chart
04

Place your first trade

On the repo page: select BUY or SELL, enter share quantity, click the action button. You get a real-time price quote (current price + fee + impact). Confirm, and the trade settles instantly against the bonding-curve reserve.

Start small. First trade: 1 share of a repo you know well (e.g., react, pytorch). Watch how the chart moves over the next hour. Get a feel for rate caps (+1.5%/h) before scaling up.
05

Monitor & exit

The Portfolio page shows your holdings, unrealized P/L, and equity curve. Close positions with one click — sell back to the reserve at the current market price. Withdraw USDC to your wallet any time.

  • Plus subscribers get 2σ momentum alerts via Slack/Discord/email — know when repos enter the hot zone without refreshing
  • API access for automated strategies starts at $500/mo

Rookie tips

◆ TIP 01

Track velocity, not rank

A repo with 200k stars isn't automatically better than one with 5k. Look at star_velocity_24h — 100 stars/day on a 5k repo is signal, 100 stars/day on a 200k repo is noise.

◆ TIP 02

Don't chase after viral spikes

By the time a repo is on HN front page, the first 20% of the move happened. Our Alpha Signals catch it earlier, but even earlier is better — watch github.com/trending language pages.

◆ TIP 03

Release decay is real

After 7 days of no release or commit activity, our composite starts penalising. Stars gained don't help if the project looks stale. Sell before the decay, not after.

◆ TIP 04

Size positions small

5% of a small-market ticker already moves the price. 1% is typically safe. The bonding curve ensures you can always exit, but exit prices reflect your own order impact.

◆ TIP 05

Fees compound

1% on buy + 1.5% on sell = 2.5% round trip. You need a 2.5%+ move to break even. Day-trading small moves rarely works. Plus subscribers pay 0.5%/1.0% — 1.5% break-even.

◆ TIP 06

Watch the tape during releases

New major releases (React 20, PyTorch 3) trigger buzz spikes within hours. If you hold the ticker before the release, you often see 15-25% moves. Calendar-aware trading works here.
